holidaze

...its been really cold here in SoCal the last week or so; here's to hoping it warms up a bit; although for the rest of the country, this is balmy weather, of course...recommended reading: The Dark Wood (1946) by Christine Weston, another one of my thrift shop finds; Ms. Weston writes like an angel; a tale of post-WW2 domestic discord...kudos to Marc Forgione, on his Iron Chef America victory on the Food Network last week; they picked the right guy; but there need to be more women Iron Chefs, Cat Cora being the only one, currently...Davis Cup finals start this weekend, France vs Serbia, in Belgrade; France will have it's hands full, but i believe, and hope, they will prevail; they are, after all, the home of Suzanne Lenglen and Rene LaCoste, two of the greatest to ever pick up a racquet...pictured above, the work of the great American illustrator J.C. Leyendecker.
